Shrouded Love
The stars are out this darkened night
A beckoning of hopeful light.
That stirs within me dreams and thoughts
Of love, and happiness - of sorts.
Fair Angel of the Dusk, arrive
Alight thy shadow by my side
I crave to hold you 'gainst my breast
And live on in a future blessed
This happiness, like dovewhite snow
Settles around me soft, although
It Melts; away to slush.
Then Nothingness.
I will strive to meet with you again
A night like this, and there lay slain
The bodies of my fear and pain
For I Am With You.
Romantic thoughts may lay in scorn
But with you here they are re-born
And swirl, encapsulate my head
And once this thirst for you is quenched
I still crave more.
For I will not be satisfied
Without your friendship by my side
This love for you is not a tide;
For tides receed , they go away
But I remain within this fray
If I am needed in future days
